چکیده
Abstract Background Frailty is associated with gait speed and defined as increased vulnerability to stressors. While usual often measured, under additional stressors such simultaneously reciting alternate letters of the alphabet (cognitive dual task) or walking at maximum pace are also measured. Consecutive trials may introduce an temporal stressor we hypothesise that frailty be a greater reduction in across trials. Methods Data from community-dwelling adults aged 50+ years Wave 3 The Irish Longitudinal Study on Ageing were utilized. Using 32-item index (FI) derived non-frail, pre-frail frail groups. Gait speeds measured using 4.88 m walkway (GAITRite, CIR Systems, NY, USA). We examined differences between two consecutive walks three conditions (usual pace, cognitive task, pace) for entire cohort, by group. Related-samples Wilcoxon signed rank tests employed, statistical significance set P < 0.05. Results For walk 2 was higher 1.0 cm/s (N = 4,097) 1.1 3,927) respectively, lower 1.9 3,926). Stratified FI, all groups walked more quickly normal (1.0, 1.1, 1.2, respectively) (1.3, 0.8, 0.5), slowly (−2.2, −1.6, −1.0). Conclusion In our analyses, seemed increase walk, smaller decrease speed. clinical very small. However, results support research practice, FI should not expected lead different pattern change

متن کاملAnalysis of Symmetry of Weight-Bearing in Athletes With and Without Low Back Pain during Gait
Background. Low Back Pain (LBP) is a prevalent phenomenon in athletes and asymmetrical loading on the limbs has been proposed as a risk factor related to this disease. Objectives. The purpose of the present study was to compare the asymmetry of loading applied on the legs between men with and without LBP during gait. Methods. A total of 40 participants, comprising 20 men with non-specific LBP...
